Sorry it has been a while. I am in the middle of wedding planning madness! But I made time to pop over to my good friend Kelly’s house and snap some photos I’ve wanted to share with you for a very long time. Kelly and I have been friends our entire adult lives and I’m always amazed by her eclectic style and taste. She makes the best shopping buddy.
This is always one of my favorite corners of Kelly’s house. Her eye for art is always on point and I covet that inherited sofa!
Basil, her corgi, had to make an appearance.
Her bedroom is one of my all time favorite places.
Kelly is an avid and successful gardener, unlike me.
Kelly’s living room is an ever-evolving riot of color and textures.
Here’s Kelly’s take on her house and process:
“My house was built in 2000 and is a basic Texas suburban home without a lot of charm or character. However, it had a nice open floor plan with large windows. I wanted a lot of light to see trees and a garden from every view. I initially painted every room in a spice color to get rid of the builder’s beige. I later painted everything white and added color through our furniture and art. We tore out cheap laminated wooden floors and tile and replaced it with the dark grey rectangular tile. We put it throughout the whole house and it gave the home a much cleaner and modern look. The majority of our furniture is hand-me-downs or bought from consignment stores and estate sales. Although some of it is from Crate & Barrel, West Elm, Target and Home Goods.”
I’m so glad I got to finally share Kelly’s house! Now back to helping Jane with the wedding plans!
