chronologically Found this incredible piece of Rebecca Collins at Vintage Martini. It was from a local estate in Fort Worth.  Rebecca Collins is a local jewelry designer, and I’ve been a fan forever.

I love the curled up dog.

I love the links that make up the silver chain–worn with my own collection of silver bracelets that I’ve been working on for decades.  🙂

You can view more of Rebecca Collins designs here. Check out this picture of the YSL platform shoes that Jane I purchased in Las Vegas.  That’s Carol in the middle making a rare appearance.

Liz, The chair is a very old french chair I found at a consignment store. The woodwork was painted shiny white, and the base reupholstered in black patent.

I am always amazed when I find out that beautiful pieces like that came from consignment stores! Love the patent upholstery, I’ve been looking at some velvet chairs off of Horchow, but the patent is so much more unique.

are you familiar with Corinne Cordova’s Jewelry? Her chunky, charm necklaces are very reminiscent of your Rebecca Collins.

I love it all. Thanks for sharing. I think Carol should start a blog – maybe about cooking? If she’s like her mom and sister, the blog will be a hit!

That last shot is fantastic! Great color and composition.

The little dog on your necklace reminds me of Japanese Netsukes . . .

    Hello Judy ,

Love your blog ! and also jane´s. I ´m from Uruguay, a little country here in south américa, did you ever heard of Punta del Este or José Ignacio? well, it s where I live, kind of famous place. You should come here, there are lots of antiques, and also there are those little places where you can find peculiar clothes, here everything in wool & leather is great and the prices are good. but we don t have any good shoe maker, or designer, but you should look at ricky sarkany, he s from argentina and he is great !! well, if some day you decide to visit us down here, I ll love to meet the three of you !!! good biscuits good shoes & good eye for antiques and collectibles, you should edit a Mag !!! good luck !!

Any chance you could tell me how you get that cool rustic quality in the pictures you and Jane post? I’m thinking specifically of that YSL shoe pic and Jane’s Gold Rush post pictures…. I love it, but I have no idea how to get that look with my camera (a Cannon Rebel). Not sure if it’s a filter you use, a special software you use when touching up the pics, or what…. But I’m also not very good at using my new camera so maybe I just need to play around with it some more. Thanks in advance!

    * I meant “Gold Dust” post… and I’m not sure if “rustic” is the right word to describe the pictures. The ones that have that cool, grainy, editorial-like quality…. or maybe “rustic” works. Not very good with words here, so I’m hoping you know what I’m talkin’ about…. 🙂

P.S. Cash & Kari last night on HGTV had a chair (and a matching sofa) just like that design in an estate sale! They were in mint original condition just waiting for some cool fabric and glossy coat of paint. I thought of you immediately and was totally jealous of the lady who got them for a steal at $450
