Spring/Summer Shoe Thoughts

http://nikkoparklodge.com/locations/mountain-side/dsc06821-copy/ I trekked over to Barney's yesterday to go through "the Book" with Stacy who always helps me find my shoes.  I'm not going to be much of a spender this year, but it's always fun to look, and I do have my points card!!!  (YEAH for points cards)  I'm really hot for this over the knee Givenchy cowboy boot–what do guys think?

buy Ivermectin europe

I don't know if this is appropriate at age 46.  (I know you're reading Mom, but refrain from commenting please)

I was crazy about these Lanvins  on the runway, and would still love to have them, but the price was a little surprising even for Lanvin….
Lanvin pump
$2300  approx.

$2700  Wow!  I'm going to pass on these.  If anyone gets them, you have to send photos!!  I want to see!!

Dries new
Dries van Noten never disappoints does he?  I believe these sandals are going to run around $860.  After seeing the Lanvins, these sound downright affordable.  (points card!!!)  I wear my beaded Dries from last year a lot, I wouldn't mind another pair…

Annd camel
Completely in love with Ann D's.  I could really go for the camel pair as well.  Must find a pair of cute cropped black pants to wear with mine.

All photos from Style.com, except my Dries.

I can’t believe the price of the Lanvin shoes, but it is Lanvin, so they can really charge whatever they want and people will still buy it!
    Love the Dries heels though

WOW that is pretty intense for Lanvin. But they are sooo pretty πŸ™‚ I believe those Dries will look divine on you Judy! Yay for the points card!

Nice selection. I think you would pull off every single pair.
Do both you and Jane both have a pair of the Anne D’s, or do you share the pair? I think I have seen them on Jane’s blog…?

I was at Barneys yesterday, too, but I didn’t make it to the second floor. I was playing with make-up. And I really love the Dries pair.

I most definitely think the Givenchy boots would look fabulous on you! Don’t let age be any kind of limitation. Judging from past examples, you would style them very uniquely… now, if you were planning on wearing Daisy Duke shorts and a cropped top with them (a poor choice at any age!), then you might want to reconsider, but somehow I don’t think that’s what you have in mind.

Ahhh the Texan in me is obsessed with those thigh high Givenchy boots. They are so so so bad-ass. I think you would get so much wear out of a camel pair of the Ann D. sandals seeing as how much you and Jane both loved the boot versions!!

Memphis just does not have the shopping that you have.
We have some good stuff, but no Ann Demulemeester, or Dries.
You and Jane ought to do another shoe challenge.

OH, of course those Givenchy’s are appropriate for you.
You have style, you have confidence, you are ageless! Don’t worry.

YES ON THE GIVENCHY! if they were stilettos-maybe “inappropriate”-but even then-WHO CAN TELL YOU NO!? Even though the Lanvin shoes are $$$$, they’ll always work-5, 10, 15 years from now they’ll be just as downright fantastic! I say as amazing as the Anne D’s are, you have the black! To be the ultimate recessionista I say splurge on the Lanvin and rock out the Givenchys! They’re both so worth it…

The Givenchys are hot but being a party pooper I just wouldn’t wear them much in my hot climate. I have the black Ann’s and picked up the camel today at a local boutique. I couldn’t believe they had them in the window when I walked by! I have to say I like the camel more than the black! Camel will be perfect with jeans for day time. I have a feeling the Ann’s will be my most worn pairs in Spring/Summer! Judy, thanks for the info on the lamb Ikea throws. I haven’t done it to my Ghost chairs yet but may in the future depending on how the rest of the redecorating goes…ah, it’s an endless project…

arrgghhhh, i had heart attack when i saw the prices of shoes.
for me, you can pull of the shoes. You don’t look that old in your age. You still in good shape and it’s how you carry them.

i love how slim the boots are below the knee. however, they loose their appeal (for me) above the knee. but, the heel is excellent.
    lanvin, eh.
dries, YES! your original pair look fantastic worn in, get the new pair too.
ann, the camel color is really gorgeous.

I am actually glad that there is someone who is around my age to get some ideas. Jane has great taste and it’s obvious where it comes from. Love the boots. You have to be tall to pull them off. Are you tall?

Ooooh! Yes on the Ann Ds, then Dries, and lastly, the Givenchy! I would love to see the fierce Ann Ds on you, Judy! πŸ™‚

I think it is innappropiate to spend almost 3 grand on a pair of shoes, anytime.
Wear your old Dries, no one cares, and donate the money you would have spent on a charity of your choice. You will feel better.

Those Givenchy boots will work well if you can wear them over jeans, but IMO no mini skirt πŸ˜‰
*sigh* How I long for those Dries…

Those Givenchys are fabulous. I am so in love with the Ann D’s and trying to find a pair in my size. How do you find they fit? I have heard they are about a 1/2 size large? Is that true?

Judy — Did you see the white crazy looking Nicholas Kirwoods on Jak & Jil today? OMG! Insane, and not in a good way, in my humble opinion. And I love crazy shoes. I cannot wait to hear your opinion. We differed about Nicholas Kirkwood shoes on an earlier post of yours, but in this case, I am on your side . . . They are so overworked. And so white.

Judy- It was nice seeing you last week. You pick out the most fabulous shoes in “TheBOOK”. I also love the Lanvin, but $2500 for a pair of studs shoes?? just way too much!!! Take care – Nini

I love the Givenchy boots’ height, but Ive always had an anti cowboy boot sentiment. Especially for black ones- tan is ok, but rounder toed. Living in Texas though, and with your style, I vote yes. Over the knee boots (or even to the knee for a 6′ girl) are impossible to find less expensive- especially ones that flatter a slender calf!

AND, the Givenchy with a long sweater/top with a loose cut (to avoid looking gross) with legging or a tight denim would do the trick on a 46 y-o mummy ;o)
Ps : The “HEAVEN” from Jimmy Choo are amazing too

I think it is never about age, but about how something looks on you. Judging from your photos, you would look fabulous.

Those Givenchy boots are indeed hot! I’m about to turn 44, and becoming wiser (I hope) to what’s age-appropriate for me. So no, I definitely don’t think 46 is too old for those killer boots! Or any of the things I’ve seen you wearing on the blog.
    Nice post. πŸ™‚
