Back in the Day

Love this 1978 ad from Sasson.  I loved Sasson when I was much, much younger, and I still buy pieces of it when I can find it now.  Jane and I are all about wearing 80's Sasson faux fur for fall–his faux fur jackets had the best  insane shoulders.

Sasson  Speaking of back in the day, some of you have asked me to post some of my old modeling photos, and sadly most of them were heat damaged.  Carol uncovered this photo of me from who knows where in my office.  I must have been about 25 when this was taken, so not quite as old as the Sasson ad. ;))  I'm sporting some seriously crimped hair…I thought these two photos went well together.

What a gorgeous black and white photo! I love the angle it was taken at, too.
There was such glamour, even just thirty years ago. I vote we bring THAT back into fashion.

I was looking forward of reading your post …what elegance! what a class! what a style! Here in Italy we have a saying that I believe can be translated as: “Class is not water”, it means that elegance is not as obvious such as water, not all of us have it… you have it for sure!!

What a fab photo! You look amazing. I’m so sorry to hear that the photos were damaged – the same thing happened to most of my mother’s childhood pictures, so I have no idea what she looked like growing up.

Wow Judy you look beautiful in the photo! The dice top/dress looks great on you too. I definitely see a resemblance to Jane in this picture. Cannot wait to see your Sasson fur jackets!

Black and white photos are the best! Nothing can capture a feeling or mood as well as black and white. I once posted my mom in the 1950s. She looked so serene.
By the way, I’ve finally got them! =) You did a fantastic job with the packaging! Thanks a million back at you, Judy! I should post “the little red dress” theme I think. And THANKS for the peasant skirt! I think I might wear it as a top.
    Best wishes,

love, love sasson. i actually have a sasson faux fur jacket that i thrifted a couple of years ago that i love and started to wear near the end of last winter. the shape if it is similar to the green one jane has but it is black with magenta, green and cranberry rugby type stripes on the sleeves. two hook closures in the front.
