I was looking at some of my favorite home decor blogs this morning, and noticed that Panton

I love this blog!

We are counting down the days until we leave for Paris.  I'm so nervous about the trip.  Jane and I have both managed to catch a cold, and I'm desperately hoping Carol doesn't catch it.  I'm afraid that one of us will trip and fall in our gowns.  I'm nervous about the dress that Chanel has provided for Jane.  It's beautiful,  ( I mean really beautiful) but weighs a ton.  She has to wear it all day on Friday for photos, and I'm really nervous for her.  Lastly–the flying thing again.  I hate flying.  I so wish I could get comfortable with it like everyone else, but I'm a total basket case.  For the first time ever, I'm going to take a Xanax before we take off.  I've been told this really helps.  (I don't like taking medication either)  I'll report back with the results.  We're bringing our cameras and computers to Paris, but I'm not sure how much we will be able to blog, we had a hard time with the Internet last trip.  I promise to get lots of photos–Carol's dress is gorgeous!  Here is what I'm wearing—vintage Scaasi from the 80's from Scaasi

Good luck with the trip. It sounds so exciting! Can’t wait to hear how it goes. That dress is gorgeous – what a fantastic shade of green, too.
Drink plenty of echinacea tea – it always helps me when I’m on the verge of a full-blown cold.

i love Desire to Inspire! it’s been on my blog roll for ages.
the Scaasi gown is dreamy. i look forward to seeing the pics from the Paris ball. what an incredible opportunity!
i’m not too keen on flying, either- which is most inconvenient, as i have to fly to get anywhere, otherwise i’d be stuck in the Caribbean forever- which would be much worse than it sounds. i’ll be interested to know how xanax works for you- if it helps.

Wow those are really great images– I wish I didn’t live in a dorm right now so I could have more leeway to decorate!
I hope both you and Jane feel better and have a fantastically perfect time in Paris! Eat plenty of pain au chocolat and ogle some Christian Louboutins and you’ll remember why it’s worth it to fly over there πŸ™‚

Judy: Desire to Inspire is a beautiful blog. Thanks for turning us on to it. By the way, your dress is killer (in a good way)! LOVE that color. Cannot wait to see your Paris photos. That city is one of my all time favorites. The flight over is worth it! Speaking of flying long distances, I will be off to Marrakech on Saturday (for a week) and am bringing my computer too! Hopefully, I will have internet access! Have a safe trip

Theraflu, the powder kind that you mix with hot water, works wonders for colds. It is the only medication I have found that actually combats ALL cold symptoms. Other than that, RELAX. Stress makes colds so much worse! That dress is exquisite. I hope you and your family enjoy your time in Paris!

the flying thing freaks everyone out. I don’t know how you got on the plane for Japan then!
I’m on a plane every week and you’d think it gets better but I find I get worse the more I fly! We always tend to think the worst we get on planes…I personally find that I psych myself out before the actual trip but then once on the plane or at the airport my anxiety is still there but not so bad. I just wish we can snap our fingers and be there….how great would that be?

Be careful with the Xanax. Everytime I fly and have to take any type of medication, it hits me really hard because of the altitute or the pressure. Maybe start with half a pill and work your way up. And stay hydrated!
Have a safe trip, we’re all looking forward to seeing your pictures!

First thing, I am just like you when it comes to flying…I hate it. Take the Xanax for sure. I do, and it takes the nervous edge off. Its not worth the anxiety if you can take something to make it easier on yourself.
And second, wow! You girls are going to have the trip of a lifetime (as if you need to be told that!), and you are all going to look stunning. That green dress is heavenly. Like everyone else, I cannot wait to see the dreamy photos! πŸ™‚

I have a terrible fear of flying and although I hate taking medicine, I do take Xanax when I fly. It helps SO much! If I didn’t, I would never get on a plane. Take right before you get on the plane–you don’t want to miss it!
    Bon voyage!

love that dress judy! well, dont let xanax ruin your flight. it will just make u feel slightly drowsy which is just to make u sleep throughout the whole flight. so that u would escape from the nauseous feel in plane.
    have a safe trip !

Judy, I think you have chosen the perfect dress – it will suit your skin and hair tones beautifully.
I am like you when it comes to flying – I have panic attacks and nausea, and the only way to stop it is to take pills! I find for a more natural alternative try ginger – anything with ginger in it although you can buy ginger tablets and these are the best. they really help me when I fly!
Good Luck and let us know how you go!

I have been following you and Jane’s blogs for quite a while but just wanted to drop you a quick comment. I used to FREAK OUT flying. Terrified me, still does a little bit. But for my job (photographer) I have to travel a lot, and I live in Chile so I am constantly on long flights. All I wanted to tell you is that the more you do it, the easier it gets. I still don’t LIKE flying, but it doesn’t make me vomit out of fear anymore…definitely a good thing πŸ™‚ Good luck on your trip!

Hi, this is my first comment on your blog, even if I’ve been reading it for quite a long time… I cannot recommend you enough to go and check the window displays of Galerie Lafayette while you’re all in Paris… the building itself is amazing and illuminated for the Christmas season, but I’m pretty sure that Jane, Carol and you will love the scenes made with toys and fashion in the windows ! better come after 9pm, when the streets start to get empty, you’ll get better pictures !
And overall enjoy your stay in our beautiful city !

Hi Judy! I hate flying as well…HATE IT. A few years ago my mother gave me half a Xanax while on a bumpy flight to Florida, and I can’t even tell you how much better I felt. I went from thinking I was going to die, to calmly reading my book. If you have never taken it before, you may want to start with a half. Just a thought. Good luck!

Great shelter pics, Judy! I love the contrast in the second photo between the lush, tapestry-covered divans and the modern lines of the white fireplace.
Have a wonderful time in Paris! If you’re staying in the 1st Arrondissement, near le Bal, there’s an internet cafe right off of rue Faubourg-St-Honore. Here’s how to get there from le Crillon: walk down rue Faubourg-Saint-Honore (the numbers will be getting smaller). You’ll pass Colette on your right, then, a few steps later, take a left on rue de la SourdiΓ¨re. The internet cafe is located at 5, rue de la Sourdiere, and a neon @ sign hanging outside makes it hard to miss.
Bon courage, elle est tellement belle cette robe magnifique!

    Dear Judy,
Thank you and the lovely Jane for such wonderful blogs, truely inspiring and personal. I read your blog often and think you have a great taste in interiors, so I wanted to suggest that you would divide the blog archive in sections so it would be easyer to just click on the ex.”interior” one, for home ideas/pictures…? Just a suggestion, please carry on I am looking forward to the next post.
    best, Sandra
ps. Good luck in Paris, I am sure you all will look beautiful!

    Hi Judy,
Thanks for the generous sharing. That’s why i love your blog, you’re never selfish to share great stuffs with others. i personally love ID. Thanks! Loving the vintage dress, great choice. Classic! i was just thinking to myself a couple of months ago in going vintage for my wedding. You know, just to break free from the usual wedding ‘norm’ or ‘customs’ here in Asia. Well, i really hope to be able to find a good site which sells 50’s or 60’s vintage wedding gowns. Really appreciate your recommendations. As for those who are reading this, please do give suggestions too πŸ™‚ Lastly, hope you have a wonderful time there is Paris!
